Practical resilience solutions for local businesses - helping you stay open, protect your people, and keep your business thriving through disruption
Porters of Porter, LLC
Business Continuity & Resilience Solutions
We’re the Porters of Porter, we help small businesses in our community strengthen operations, protect revenue, and bounce back quickly from disruptions
What We Do
We work with local business owners who can’t afford long shutdowns or guesswork when things go wrong. Drawing on real-world emergency management experience, we help you see where your business is vulnerable, strengthen the weak spots, and put simple, plain-English plans in place so you can stay open, protect your people, and keep your business thriving through disruption.
Mission
Our mission at Porters of Porter is to stand beside local business owners when it matters most. We help you face power outages, supply disruptions, and unexpected crises without losing the business, team, and community you have worked so hard to build. We do this by translating emergency management and continuity planning into practical, plain-English steps, simple scores, and ready-to-use tools that fit your day-to-day operations—not someone else’s theory.
Vision
We envision a future where every serious business in Greater East Montgomery County has a clear, living resilience plan, knows exactly how vulnerable it is, and has a trusted partner to call before things go sideways. As Porters of Porter grows, we aim to be the quiet force behind the scenes that helps owners sleep better at night, keeps people employed, and makes our local economy stronger and more stable, one prepared business at a time.
What We Do
At Porters of Porter, we help local businesses protect what matters most; your people, your revenue, and your future. Our Small Business Resiliency Score™ (SBRS) is a proprietary framework that gives owners a clear picture of how ready their business really is, highlighting strengths and exposing gaps before disruptions cost money. We believe small businesses shouldn’t have to become experts in continuity planning; that’s our job. We bring practical tools, local expertise, and real-world experience to help you prepare, adapt, and thrive.
How We Work Together
1. Assess Your Readiness
We start with your Small Business Resilience Score™ (SBRS) to see where you’re strong, where you’re exposed, and how a disruption would really hit your operations.
2. Build Simple, Usable Systems
In focused work like Outage-Ready in 30 Days™, we turn that insight into outage playbooks, First-Hour Cards, continuity binders, and vendor plans your team can actually use.
3. Support Your Next Steps
As your business grows and conditions change, we can review, refine, and expand your resilience systems so they stay current, practical, and ready when you need them.
Meet Warren
I’ve spent more than two decades in emergency management and safety leadership across business, healthcare, schools, and public safety. That work has included leading complex medical operations during crises such as the nation’s only successful high-risk Ebola patient transfer, and coordinating large-scale evacuee care that earned me recognition as the Texas Department of State Health Services Person of the Year. I also hold a Master’s degree in Emergency Health Services, and my career has centered on turning theory into real-world readiness when lives and livelihoods are on the line.
For years, I watched large hospitals, cities, and corporations rely on dedicated emergency management teams, people like me, while most small and mid-sized businesses were left to figure it out alone. I founded Porters of Porter to change that, giving local owners access to the same level of expertise and planning so your business has just as much chance to survive a disruption as the big players do. Today, I bring that same level of rigor and calm to local businesses that can’t afford long shutdowns or guesswork when something goes wrong, helping you stay open, protect your people, and face disruption with a clear, workable plan instead of hope.
Values
Plain-English Practicality
We believe owners should not have to learn a new profession just to protect their business. Everything we build together is explained in plain English and grounded in real-world examples, not jargon. If a plan, checklist, or score cannot be explained in a few clear sentences, we keep working on it until it can.
Owners First, Not Ego
Your business, your people, and your reputation come first. Our role is to stand beside you, not talk over you. That means honest feedback, solutions tailored to your reality, and recommendations that respect your time, your staff, your budget, and your appetite for change.
Calm, Evidence-Guided Decisions
Crises can be emotional, but your decisions cannot be. We bring a calm, steady approach shaped by real emergencies and proven practices. We look at actual risks, actual vulnerabilities, and real options, then choose the most practical path forward. Fear is never the plan; clear thinking is.
Local Commitment, Long-Term View
We’re invested in the success of Greater East Montgomery County and the surrounding region. When your business weathers disruption well, employees keep their jobs, families keep their routines, and our local economy stays stronger. We design plans and tools that can be updated and reused as your business grows, not just filed away after one project.
Simple Systems, Real Readiness
Real resilience is built on a few simple systems that people actually use. Whether it’s your resilience score, outage playbook, first-hour card, vendor list, or continuity binder, everything is designed for a normal busy day, not just for perfect conditions. If your staff cannot follow it on a stressful Tuesday afternoon, it is not finished yet.
Quiet, Trusted Partnership
Resilience work can expose sensitive details about your operations, finances, and past close calls. We treat that information with discretion and respect. Our goal is to be the person you can call before, during, or after a disruption, someone who knows your business, understands your risks, and can work behind the scenes to help you protect what matters most.
